Blog Completion

Hi Everyone! This week we were asked to reflect on our experience creating our Genius Hour project website and blog. This was my first experience creating a project that was completely open-ended which definitely means starting with a level of comfortability. I think one important take-away from setting up this project is the need to still convey some expectations to students, because otherwise it can be a little anxiety inducing. In this course I think that would've meant emphasizing that the topic size should be manageable, but is completely open and that the key expectation is the incorporation of tech tools into the project to improve our comfortability in using them. The inquiry learning that I remember from high school usually involved some sort of project, but at the same time there were usually limits to the scope and topic of our project.  Two concerns for setting up an inquiry based project in your classroom are the need for providing early feedback and instructor expert

Continuing Website Set-Up & Next Steps

Hi Everyone! I'm hoping that when the weather turns warmer I'll be able to put some videos together for each drill, but in the meantime I'm getting my website organized and set up so it's ready to add them. While I was putting together my Movie Trailer I found a few goalkeepers who had put together some videos I really liked. One of these was GK GOLUREMI  since the techniques he explained were very similar to my own. If I'm unable to access the necessary facilities to create the videos, I'll resort to written explanations of the concepts and use some of the videos I've found as a visual. I'm planning on including these written explanations either way, so this will be one of my next steps. Using my own videos will still be ideal so that my explanations can align best with the videos. Since I'll likely be looking at other trainers for additional drills and comparing my explanations, I can provide these as additional resources for my readers since some

Finishing up my website

Hi Everyone! This week I finished up the Goal Kick skill explanation and completed the page on Pass Backs. I also started creating my glossary page, so if your uncertain what pass backs are you can find in the glossary . Just as I did for the goal kicks, I explained the rules involved in pass backs and why they are an important skill for goalkeepers, however I spent the majority of the time explaining strategy and ways that goalkeepers can improve this skill. I also included the following diagrams and explanations of a common pass back situation to better explain some of the strategy that goalkeepers must consider. I also included an explanation of what each colour of dot represents (ball = white, goalkeeper = yellow, teammates = orange, opposition = red). For completing my product, my plan is to complete the Hand Distribution skill explanation so that the full Distribution & Foot Skills section of my website is complete. I will also add to the glossary any additional terms I use
