Genius Hour Blog

 Hi Everyone! As I'm sure you've guessed by the title of this post, I'll still be creating a website as the product for my genius hour project. Although I could've just extended my blog further, I like the ability to organize content thoroughly on the website and hopefully create a YouTube channel at some point in the future for adding video content to the site. Although I have a to add the majority of the content to the site yet, I've published my Goalkeeper Training  site so that I can share what I have so far. To ensure that anyone who happens upon my website before I've completed it, I created a notice on the homepage that reads: I chose a template that prioritizes organization. On the left panel I have Home and Skills pages, as well as a page for each category.  Hi Everyone! This week I'm going to be taking a break from my project and focus on considering the best way to proceed with my product. My professor pointed to the website, videos, and drills for each skill being far above the workload expectations for this project, so this week I'm going to think about how I would like to scale down my product. Because I want to pursue goalkeeper training and coaching part time alongside my teaching career, building the website was my way of starting this, so at this point I would really like to continue this portion. I'm also thinking that since I won't be adding drills for each skill at this point (would be completed post-project), I will have a lot less research on my plate and can likely dedicate that time to creating the website.  Hi Everyone! I'm hoping that when the weather turns warmer I'll be able to put some videos together for each drill, but in the meantime I'm getting my website organized and set up so it's ready to add them. While I was putting together my Movie Trailer I found a few goalkeepers who had put together some videos I really liked. One of these was GK GOLUREMI  since the techniques he explained were very similar to my own. If I'm unable to access the necessary facilities to create the videos, I'll resort to written explanations of the concepts and use some of the videos I've found as a visual. I'm planning on including these written explanations either way, so this will be one of my next steps. Using my own videos will still be ideal so that my explanations can align best with the videos.
